For several years running, West Virginia has ranked as having the worst legal climate in the nation. While our politicians like to dismiss such rankings, it is hard to dispute the effects an abusive legal climate has had on our state. West Virginia has gained a national reputation for having one of the worst Attorney General’s in the nation – Darrell V. McGraw. First elected in 1992, Attorney General McGraw has made a habit of appointing his campaign contributing personal injury lawyer friends to lucrative no-bid legal contracts.
